PanDoc can be used to convert files from one markup format into another. Pandoc can convert between dozens of formats.
The solution was developed by John MacFarlane.
Pandoc also enables various other output formats, including lightweight markup formats (e.g. Textile, Markdown, reStructuredText, txt2tags), interactive notebook formats (Jupyter notebook), page layout formats (InDesign ICML), wiki markup formats (MediaWiki, DokuWiki, Jira wiki), documentation formats (Haddock markup), slide show formats (LaTeX Beamer, Slidy, reveal.js, Slideous), XML formats (DocBook, JATS), outline formats (OPML) and bibliography formats (BibTeX, BibLaTeX, CSL JSON, CSL YAML).
